What the Duke Wants is the first book in the Greenford Waters Legacy series by Amy Quinton. The audiobook is narrated by Pippa Rathborne and is approximately 10 hours and 46 minutes long. The story is set in Regency England and follows the love story of Lady Amelia and the Duke of Coventry.

The story begins with Lady Amelia, who is the daughter of the Earl of Castleton, attending a ball in London. She is a beautiful and intelligent young woman who is admired by many eligible bachelors. However, she is not interested in any of them and is instead focused on her passion for botany. She is determined to become a botanist and is working on a book about the plants of England.

At the ball, Lady Amelia meets the Duke of Coventry, who is known for his rakish behavior and his reputation as a womanizer. Despite his reputation, Lady Amelia is drawn to him and they share a dance. However, their conversation is cut short when Lady Amelia’s father interrupts them and demands that she leave the ball immediately.

The Duke of Coventry is intrigued by Lady Amelia and is determined to get to know her better. He discovers that she is staying at her family’s estate in the countryside and decides to pay her a visit. Lady Amelia is surprised to see him and is initially hesitant to spend time with him. However, she eventually agrees to show him around her garden and they begin to develop a friendship.

As they spend more time together, Lady Amelia and the Duke of Coventry begin to develop feelings for each other. However, their relationship is complicated by their different social statuses and Lady Amelia’s father’s disapproval. Lady Amelia’s father is determined to marry her off to a wealthy and titled gentleman and is not pleased with her growing attachment to the Duke of Coventry.

Despite the obstacles in their way, Lady Amelia and the Duke of Coventry continue to see each other in secret. They share their love of botany and spend time exploring the countryside together. However, their happiness is short-lived when Lady Amelia’s father discovers their relationship and forbids them from seeing each other.

Lady Amelia is devastated by her father’s decision and is forced to choose between her love for the Duke of Coventry and her duty to her family. The Duke of Coventry is also torn between his love for Lady Amelia and his reputation as a rake. He knows that he must prove himself worthy of her love and sets out to win her father’s approval.

The audiobook is narrated by Pippa Rathborne, who does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. Her narration is clear and easy to understand, and she does a great job of capturing the emotions of the characters. She also does a great job of differentiating between the different characters, making it easy to follow the story.

Overall, What the Duke Wants is a charming and romantic story that will appeal to fans of historical romance. The characters are well-developed and the plot is engaging, with plenty of twists and turns to keep the listener interested. The audiobook is well-narrated and is a great way to experience the story. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good love story set in Regency England.
