The Crown is the fifth and final book in The Selection series by Kiera Cass. The audiobook is narrated by Brittany Pressley and is approximately 8 hours and 44 minutes long. The Crown continues the story of Eadlyn Schreave, the daughter of King Maxon and Queen America, as she navigates her own Selection and prepares to become the first female ruler of Illea.

The story begins with Eadlyn still reeling from the events of the previous book, The Heir. She has narrowed down her Selection to six potential suitors, but she is still unsure about whether she wants to marry any of them. She is also struggling with the pressure of being the first female ruler of Illea and the expectations that come with it.

As the Selection continues, Eadlyn begins to develop deeper connections with some of the remaining suitors. She also starts to realize that her initial impressions of some of them were wrong and that they are not the people she thought they were. This leads to some surprising twists and turns in the story as Eadlyn tries to figure out who she truly wants to be with.

One of the things that I enjoyed about The Crown audiobook was the narration by Brittany Pressley. She did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life and capturing the emotions of the story. Her voice was easy to listen to, and she kept me engaged throughout the entire book.

Another thing that I appreciated about The Crown was the way that it wrapped up the series. It tied up all of the loose ends and gave closure to the characters’ stories. I felt satisfied with the way that everything ended, and I was happy to see Eadlyn grow and mature throughout the series.

One of the themes that stood out to me in The Crown was the idea of duty versus personal desires. Eadlyn struggles with this throughout the book as she tries to balance her responsibilities as a future queen with her own desires and feelings. She also has to navigate the expectations of her family and the people of Illea, who have certain ideas about what a queen should be like.

I thought that this was an interesting theme to explore, and it added depth to the story. It made Eadlyn’s journey feel more meaningful, and it gave her character more depth. It also made me think about the idea of duty in my own life and how it can sometimes conflict with my personal desires.

Overall, I thought that The Crown was a satisfying conclusion to The Selection series. It had all of the elements that I enjoyed in the previous books, including romance, drama, and political intrigue. It also had a strong message about the importance of being true to oneself and following one’s own path in life.

If you are a fan of The Selection series, I would definitely recommend listening to The Crown audiobook. It is a great way to experience the story and to immerse yourself in the world of Illea. The narration by Brittany Pressley is excellent, and the story is engaging and satisfying.
