The story follows the lives of Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah, who have been friends since childhood. Belly has always had a crush on Conrad, who is the older brother of her best friend, and in the previous books, they have had an on-again, off-again relationship. In this book, Belly and Conrad are finally together, but their relationship is put to the test when they face a tragedy that threatens to tear them apart.
The book begins with Belly and Conrad spending the summer together at the beach house, where they have spent many summers before. Belly is happy to be with Conrad, but she can’t help but feel like something is off. Conrad is distant and moody, and she can’t figure out what’s wrong. She tries to talk to him, but he brushes her off, and she starts to worry that he doesn’t love her anymore.
Things come to a head when Conrad’s mother dies suddenly, and he is forced to confront his feelings about her death and his relationship with Belly. He pushes her away, and she is left feeling hurt and confused. She turns to Jeremiah, who has always been there for her, and they start to develop feelings for each other.
The rest of the book follows Belly as she tries to navigate her feelings for both Conrad and Jeremiah and figure out what she wants. She is torn between her love for Conrad and her growing feelings for Jeremiah, and she doesn’t know how to choose between them. She also has to deal with the aftermath of Conrad’s mother’s death and the impact it has on their family.
The audiobook is narrated by Jessica Almasy, who does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. She captures the emotions of the characters perfectly, and her voice is easy to listen to. She does a great job of differentiating between the different characters, and it’s easy to tell who is speaking.
One of the things I loved about this audiobook is the way it captures the essence of summer. The descriptions of the beach house and the beach itself are vivid and make you feel like you’re there. The audiobook is perfect for listening to on a hot summer day, and it’s easy to get lost in the story and forget about everything else.
Another thing I loved about this audiobook is the way it deals with grief and loss. The death of Conrad’s mother is a major theme throughout the book, and the way the characters deal with it is realistic and heartfelt. The audiobook does an excellent job of capturing the emotions of the characters and making you feel like you’re experiencing their pain and sadness.
The audiobook also deals with themes of love, friendship, and family. The relationships between the characters are complex and nuanced, and the audiobook does an excellent job of exploring them. The love triangle between Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah is particularly well done, and it’s easy to understand why Belly is torn between them.
Overall, We’ll Always Have Summer is an excellent audiobook that is perfect for fans of young adult contemporary romance. The story is engaging and well-written, and the characters are relatable and likable. The audiobook is narrated beautifully, and it’s easy to get lost in the story and forget about everything else. If you’re looking for a great summer read, this audiobook is definitely worth checking out.
