The story begins with Claire and Jamie living in the colony of North Carolina in the year 1767. They have settled on Fraser’s Ridge, a piece of land that Jamie has been granted by the British Crown. Claire is a healer and uses her medical knowledge to help the people of the colony. Jamie is a farmer and a leader in the community. They have a daughter named Brianna, who was born in the 20th century and traveled back in time to be with her parents.
One day, Claire discovers that Jamie’s nephew, Ian, has been kidnapped by pirates. She and Jamie set out to rescue him and end up on a ship called the Artemis. The ship is captained by a man named Elias Pound, who is a cruel and sadistic man. Claire and Jamie are forced to work as crew members on the ship and endure many hardships.
During their journey, they encounter a young man named Stephen Bonnet, who is a smuggler and a thief. Bonnet steals a valuable gemstone from Claire and Jamie and causes them to be arrested when they arrive in Jamaica. They are taken to the governor’s mansion, where they meet Lord John Grey, a British soldier who is a friend of Jamie’s.
Lord John helps Claire and Jamie escape from Jamaica and they set sail for Scotland. Along the way, they encounter many dangers, including a storm that nearly sinks their ship. They also meet a group of Native Americans who help them when they are stranded on an island.
When they finally arrive in Scotland, they are reunited with Jamie’s family and friends. They also discover that Brianna has traveled back in time to be with them. However, their happiness is short-lived when they learn that Bonnet is still alive and has kidnapped Brianna.
Claire and Jamie set out to rescue Brianna and confront Bonnet. They are successful in rescuing her, but Bonnet escapes. They return to Fraser’s Ridge and begin to rebuild their lives.
The Voyager audiobook is a thrilling and engaging story that will keep listeners on the edge of their seats. The characters are well-developed and the plot is full of twists and turns. Davina Porter’s narration is excellent and brings the story to life. Overall, the Voyager audiobook is a must-listen for fans of the Outlander series and anyone who enjoys a good adventure story.
