Rose Madder

The story begins with Rose Daniels, a woman who has been married to Norman for 14 years. Norman is a violent and controlling man, who regularly beats Rose and forces her to have sex with him. Rose has tried to leave him before, but has always been caught and punished. One day, she decides she can’t take it anymore and runs away from home.
