The story picks up where the previous book, The Dragon’s Fangs, left off. Wu Ying has just defeated the dragon and has gained a powerful weapon, the Dragon’s Fangs. However, her victory has come at a great cost. Her mentor, Master Liu, has been killed, and Wu Ying is left to mourn his loss. The audiobook version of Shattered Lands is expertly narrated by Adam Verner. His voice is clear and easy to understand, and he does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. He is able to convey the emotions and motivations of the characters, making it easy for the listener to become fully immersed in the story.
