The story begins with Jazmin, who is working as a waitress in a small town in Montana. She is trying to keep a low profile and avoid drawing attention to herself, but that all changes when she meets a handsome stranger named Cole. Cole is a former Navy SEAL who has come to Montana to start a new life after his military career. He is immediately drawn to Jazmin and is determined to get to know her better.
As Jazmin and Cole get to know each other, they both begin to open up about their pasts. Jazmin reveals that she was the victim of a violent crime and has been living in fear ever since. Cole shares that he has been struggling with PTSD and is trying to find a way to move on from his military career. Despite their pasts, the two of them begin to fall in love and start to build a life together.
However, their happiness is short-lived when Jazmin’s past comes back to haunt her. She is kidnapped by a group of men who are looking for something that she has. Cole is determined to find Jazmin and bring her back safely, but he soon realizes that he is in over his head. He enlists the help of his former SEAL team and together they set out to rescue Jazmin and bring her kidnappers to justice.
The audiobook version of Heart of Gold is a thrilling and suspenseful ride from start to finish. Cynthia Farrell does an excellent job of narrating the story and bringing the characters to life. Her voice is clear and easy to listen to, and she does a great job of conveying the emotions of the characters.
One of the things that I enjoyed most about this audiobook was the way that the author tackled some difficult topics. Jazmin’s past trauma is a central part of the story, and the author does a great job of exploring the impact that it has had on her life. She also does a great job of showing how Cole’s PTSD has affected his life and his relationships. These are important issues that are often overlooked in romantic suspense novels, and I appreciated the way that the author handled them.
Another thing that I enjoyed about this audiobook was the setting. The small town in Montana is described in great detail, and it was easy to picture the rugged landscape and the tight-knit community. The author does a great job of creating a sense of place, and it added to the overall atmosphere of the story.
The romance between Jazmin and Cole was also well done. They had great chemistry, and their relationship felt natural and believable. I appreciated that the author didn’t rush their relationship and took the time to develop it over the course of the story.
