The story takes place in the aftermath of the Second Galactic Civil War, which saw the defeat of the Galactic Alliance and the rise of a new government known as the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. The Jedi Order, which had been heavily involved in the war, is now facing a new challenge as a mysterious force known as the Abeloth threatens to destroy the galaxy.
Jaina Solo, the daughter of Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo, is one of the few Jedi who is aware of the threat posed by Abeloth. She is also dealing with personal issues, having recently lost her brother Jacen Solo to the dark side of the Force. Jaina is determined to stop Abeloth and prevent any more Jedi from falling to the dark side.
The audiobook begins with Jaina and her fellow Jedi Knights investigating a strange disturbance in the Force on the planet of Dathomir. They discover that the disturbance is caused by Abeloth, a powerful being who has the ability to manipulate the minds of those around her. Abeloth is also able to shape-shift and take on the appearance of anyone she chooses.
Jaina and her team are soon joined by a group of Sith who are also interested in Abeloth. The Sith are led by Darth Caedus, Jaina’s brother Jacen who has been resurrected by Abeloth. Jaina is torn between her loyalty to the Jedi Order and her love for her brother, who she believes can be redeemed.
As Jaina and the Sith battle Abeloth and her minions, they discover that she is not the only threat to the galaxy. A group of rogue Jedi known as the Lost Tribe of the Sith have also emerged and are seeking to take control of the galaxy. The Lost Tribe is led by a powerful Sith Lord named Ship, who has the ability to control the minds of others.
Jaina and her team must navigate through a complex web of alliances and enemies as they try to stop Abeloth and the Lost Tribe. Along the way, they encounter old friends and enemies, including Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Lando Calrissian.
The audiobook is filled with action-packed scenes and intense battles between the Jedi, Sith, and Abeloth’s minions. The narration by Marc Thompson is excellent, with each character having a distinct voice and personality. Thompson’s narration adds to the overall excitement and tension of the story.
One of the strengths of the audiobook is the character development of Jaina Solo. Jaina is a complex character who is dealing with personal loss and the weight of her responsibilities as a Jedi Knight. She is torn between her loyalty to the Jedi Order and her love for her brother, who she believes can be redeemed. Jaina’s struggles make her a relatable and sympathetic character.
The audiobook also explores the themes of redemption and forgiveness. Jaina believes that her brother can be redeemed, despite his actions as Darth Caedus. She is willing to risk her own life to save him. The audiobook also explores the idea that even those who have committed terrible acts can be forgiven and given a second chance.
Another strength of the audiobook is the world-building. The Star Wars universe is vast and complex, and the audiobook does an excellent job of exploring different planets and cultures. The audiobook also introduces new characters and factions, such as the Lost Tribe of the Sith, which adds to the richness of the Star Wars universe.
Overall, Outcast is an excellent audiobook that will appeal to fans of the Star Wars franchise. The story is engaging and filled with action, while the character development and themes add depth to the story. The narration by Marc Thompson is top-notch and adds to the overall excitement of the story.
