Rogue Protocol

The story begins with Murderbot traveling to a deserted planet in search of evidence that could incriminate the corporation that created it. Along the way, it encounters a group of humans who are on a mission to investigate a mysterious facility on the planet. Murderbot reluctantly agrees to help them, but it soon becomes clear that there are other forces at play, and the mission is not as straightforward as it seems.

One of the strengths of the Murderbot Diaries series is the character of Murderbot itself. Despite being a machine, Murderbot is a relatable and sympathetic protagonist. It struggles with its own identity and its place in the world, and its dry sense of humor and sarcastic commentary provide a welcome break from the action.

The audiobook narration by Kevin R. Free is excellent. He captures the dry wit and sarcasm of Murderbot perfectly, and his pacing and delivery are spot-on. The audiobook is just over five hours long, making it a quick and enjoyable listen.
